Just over five years ago I would have laughed in the face of anyone who tried to tell me about Jesus and Eternal Salvation. "Who needs that," I would have said, "Jesus is just something created by those dudes on television who want my money." Boy, was I ever wrong. I did not know just how real Jesus was until one day, while I was getting ready for work, my daughter began having convulsions from a high fever. On my way to the hospital, I asked God to take care of her and make her well. I said that if He could save her life, He could have mine. Well, He did what I asked but I did not do what I said I would. I figured it was just a thing and Jesus had no part of it. Some time later God got my attention again, this time it was my son. He had pierced his eye by pulling something down off of the wall. Again, on the way to the hospital, I asked God to intercede and take care of him. I once again said that if He could save his eye sight, He could have my life. Well, He did what I asked but I did not do what I said I would. One Sunday while I was sitting in the balcony of my church, I heard a voice speak to me. The voice told me that I had made a promise that I had not kept. The voice went on to ask what else it was going to take for me to see that God was real. The voice said that the time had come to step up and make the choice. I got up and accepted Jesus Christ into my life. Right up there with meeting my beautiful wife Heidi and our two wonderful children Ashleigh and Dillon, accepting Jesus Christ into my life is one of the best decisions I ever made. It was really easy and there wasn't any forms to fill out or money required. I just looked at the rewards, Eternal Salvation. I know now that nothing in my past can be held against me. Jesus Christ died for me. How mind blowing is that? And you know what, He died for YOU too! All you have to do is ask Jesus into your life! To accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior start with this simple Prayer: "Father God, I am a sinner. I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for my sins on the cross and was raised for my salvation. I now receive and confess Him as my personal Savior." |
